HB 2504 was passed by the Texas Legislature in 2009 and was included in statutory provisions in Texas Education Code Section 51.974. This bill requires Texas public institutions of higher education to make available certain information on the institution’s website. These include a course syllabus, faculty curriculum vitae (CV), and departmental budget. San Jacinto makes this information available in the following manner.
Course Syllabi: Search San Jacinto College course syllabi at sanjac.campusconcourse.com/search.
Faculty CV: Faculty CV are available on the course schedule listing by clicking on the faculty name for the individual course section. The course schedule may be found at coursefinder.sanjac.edu
Institutional Budget: Details for the San Jacinto College Annual Adopted Budget are available at Annual Adopted Budget.
Additional requirements:
The information must be accessible from the institution’s website home page by use of not more than three links; searchable by keywords and phrases; and accessible to the public without requiring registration or use of a username, a password, or any other user identification.
The institution shall make the information available no later than the seventh day after the first day of class for the semester or other academic term during which the course is offered.
