grants, scholarships, and student loans. Explore your options and make college affordable

There are many federal and state grants are available for students who qualify. Grants
are money that do not need to be paid back. This includes the Pell Grant, TPEG, and

San Jac offers a range of resources and support services to help you achieve your
academic goals. This includes Texas exemptions, childcare assistance, and work-study

This program allows students to borrow loan funds directly from the federal government.
You will need to complete entrance counseling and sign a master promissory note with
the Direct Loan program. Interest rates vary depending on the type of loan and disbursement
date. Please visit studentaid.gov for more information on rates.
Do you need help paying for child care? We offer two grant programs to help alleviate

College Financing Plan (CFP)
The College Financing Plan (CFP) is an easy to read form that enables you to compare
institutions in terms of grant, scholarship offer amounts, student work, loan options
and other financial assistant options. You can access the San Jacinto College CFP
by logging into SOS - click on the College Financing Plan tab.
Texas Exemptions
Texas offers various programs that exempt or waive higher education costs for residents.
If eligible, these programs will allow you to attend a public college or university
without paying tuition. In some cases, it waives both tuition and fees. Certain nonresidents
may also be able to enroll and pay a reduced tuition rate through waivers. Learn more
